Welcome

Welcome to the website for the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Constructing Excellence Club (HAWCE). We are one of several regional best practice clubs established by Constructing Excellence to drive best practice in the construction industry. We provide ways for businesses, clients and the supply chain to learn, share and improve their construction knowledge by innovation, industry support and the sharing of knowledge. We are proud to support the local construction community to this end.

Membership

HAWCE is a voluntary funded not-for-profit organisation which receives no funding from industry or Constructing Excellence and thus relies on membership and sponsorship for its lifeline. In our first year, 2010, we provided events free of charge, as we received adequate grants and sponsorship. As we no longer qualify for grants and we wish to improve our service, we have now introduced optional annual membership subscriptions, which are deliberately kept low so we are open and accessible to all within the industry and we do not charge for students, those unemployed and those retired.

Those that choose not to become Members can still pay a small fee, on the door, to attend our events. Again, we do not charge for students, those unemployed and those retired.

Who should join?

Anyone who is involved in the supply chain serving construction industry will be welcomed by the Club and encouraged to join us in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for networking, gaining valuable knowledge and finding out about key issues and changes in the industry.

Our target membership is wide ranging and not limited to any particular part of the supply chain or company size, whether you are in manufacturing, surveying, design, development, regulation, inspection, building, facilities management, a developer or one of the many businesses that keep the construction core businesses operational we would be pleased to greet you.

We do not have any age limits either and would encourage new entrants and less experienced members of construction to attend our events and expand their personal network which is often beneficial for career progression.

Our events

We intend to hold six events each year to allow industry professional clients and the supply chain the opportunity to share knowledge, best practice and showcase what’s new in the industry.

Events will be held at different venues throughout the region to maximise interest and support and to give easy access to individuals involved in the construction process throughout Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

You get to choose which events you attend to meet your interests or you may even chose to attend them all if networking aspects is of key importance to you.
