making sustainability work for your company
Sustainability was high on the agenda for most construction professionals in April when HAWCE hosted their second event “making sustainability work for your company”. The venue for this event took place at the Headquarters of Worcester Bosh in Worcester and was co hosted by a number of leading professionals including Matthew Rhodes of Encraft, Alastair Kay, Renewable Energy Manager from Worcester Bosch and Paul Hutchins from Ec02solar.
Over 70 delegates attended on the evening to debate and review in detail leading technologies supporting the renewable energy sector including micro-generation, air and ground source, solar thermal and PV products.
Matthew Rhodes of Encraft a leading independent consulting engineer was on hand to outline new business models and innovative funding surrounding renewable energy grants and feed in tariffs available to businesses and public bodies in order to reduce carbon emissions and promote energy savings.

HAWCE EVENTS OFF TO A FLYING START
The first event for the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Constructing Excellence Club got off to a flying start when over 140 delegates from across the region attended Worcester Rugby Club to listen to some of the regions leading construction professionals debate the future of collaborative working.
Guest speaker Don Ward, Chief executive for Constructing Excellence gave a passionate overview in support of frameworks, collaborative working and lean efficiency as the best chance the sector has of driving industry’s out of recession and becoming more sustainable and to thrive in the tough times ahead
The evening was rounded off by Peter Lines Design Manager for Worcestershire County Council who outlined their plans for a new West Midlands regional framework and the future opportunities for local supply chain contractors. Peter also outlined the procurement process and the criteria for inclusion on the councils approved list and the National framework.
The bar remained open after the event and gave everybody a fantastic opportunity to network and meet new clients and generally catch up with old friends
